Low Carb Diet Nutrition Tips

vegetablesjpg82In today’s society everyone is encumbered to be slender, and meet America’s expectations of beautiful. There are a few different revenues that one can take to achieve this attribute. One way, is moving to a low carbohydrate diet. Changing your diet doesn’t necessarily mean giving up your way of life. When entertained with the idea to change one’s diet, many people have a view that they need to eat only pasta and eliminate red meat. Or to take drastic measures to do away with so called “fatty” foods all together. I have included a few useful tips that everyone can use to make the transition from a high carb diet to a low carb diet.

  1. Measure your carbohydrate intake. When eating carbohydrates, choose complicated ones. A few examples would be wholegrains, pastas, and vegetables and fruits that are low in starch.
  2. Choose foods that contain low sugar. A few fruits and vegetables that are low in sugar are apricots, apples, asparagus and broccoli.
  3. Avoid carbonated drinks. A few good examples are soda, and sweetened juices. If your thirsty stick to good old natural water.
  4. Keep an assortment of low carb foods. Your kitchen must remain occupied with non-starchy food such as a wide range of fruits, vegetables, fish and dairy products. This will ensure that snack time is made easy.
  5. If you must go out to eat, choose restaraunts that don’t entirely consist of pasta and bread. A seafood restaraunt is a great alternative.
  6. Examine the labels. All food labels must consist of how many grams of carbohydrates per serving it contains. It is a necessity that you read all labels thoroughly and track the amount of carbs you are consuming.
  7. Follow a squirrels example, protect your nuts. It is known that peanuts amongst other nuts help with weight loss and contribute to a healthy heart.
  8. Convert to other cooking oils. The best oils to choose are mono-saturated oils such as, peanut oil, olive oil, canola oil, and salad dressing. Changing cooking oils contribute to a healthier myocardium, in lamens terms your heart.
  9. Eat lean meats. Switching to a low carb diet does not mean you can eat any fatty meat you choose. You should try to stay away from any meats that are high in saturated fats. Not only is too much saturated fat bad for your weight, but it is also terrible for your heart. Stick to lean beef, poultry, and pork. Carefully remove any visible skin or fat.
