My weight has always been an issue all my life. I think I have been on every diet. I have gained and lost over one hundred pounds in my life. I think the easiest way to stick to your diet is the low carb diet. I have been living the low carb lifestyle and following it quite well. In my readings about this lifestyle, I discovered the very interesting term ?snealing?. This term was coined by Dr. Ray Powell, as an easier way to live the low carb lifestyle and stick to it. It is the combination of the words snack and meal, resulting in healthy snacking and therefore healthy living. I am aware that there are reports that Dr. Atkin’s high protein – low carb diet is unhealthy but I have found that it works. I know there are those that say the high fat is unhealthy to my heart but I feel healthier than ever. I have researched the subject, and although I am not a professional researcher, I found that the low carb lifestyle is the best healthy choice for me.
The difference between a snack and a sneal, is that the sneal is much healthier. The sneal is composed of a fruit, vegetable or lean protein. A sneal does not contain any white flour, white sugar, large amounts of salts or hydrogenated fats. Traing your body to crave a sneal and not a snack is the way to healthy living. It is to stop craving the cookies or chips and replacing it with celery and peanut butter, or a handful of nuts.
I was curious about Dr. Powell and went on his web site where he is selling his sneals. They looked good, although seemed to be a little much for my budget. The sneals on the site also seemed to contain soy protein, which I have read to be harmful to some. It seems that it may cause premature menstrual cycles or lower the testosterone level or raise the estrogen levels in young boys. I have always prepared my own snacks, so I have decided to prepare my own sneals too. It is always wiser when dieting to prepare your own foods so that you see exactly what is going into them, and how healthy they really are.
It is very important to make healthy choices of what we eat every day. I start the day off with a bowl of oatmeal. I try to drink lots of water and eat lean proteins- like chicken, fish or beef with a lot of green vegetables. I supplement these meals with peanut butter, almonds, cashews, milk or sometimes a fruit.
If your budget allows for you to buy these ready made sneals, it is great and easy, although for those that cannot- buy healthy foods at the supermarket and make great recipes. Enjoy your healthy snacks and healthy lifestyle.
